Always Envy The Rich Man
By Daniel Spiller
Glenwood Springs
Always envy the rich man
hail the gold on his teeth
Rolled his roads stoges and fields and
I’m still stuck on my knees
Begging at the bottom of his feet
like a dog drooling to eat
I have to stand up to something
even if he breaks my knees
Always obey the rich man
work when he tell you to work
He go’n make bread outta your hands
and show you exactly what it’s worth
Diving for the dimes at his feet
Kill your brothers to make ends meet
Covet your lives
Be no man’s device
As the world freedom cries
Won’t you sympathise
No more envy the rich man
No more hail to the chief
You can make war with your own hands
And leave mine in my peace
You’re telling me who’s my enemies
When you are the only one I see
Covet your lives
Be no man’s device
As the world freedom cries
Won’t you sympathise
Send Some Rain
By Deborah Holt Williams
Feels like hell here, Colorado!
Rocky Mountains shouldn’t get this hot.
Warm and humid, more like West Virginia.
Mother Nature gave us all she’s got.
Send some rain! Cool our home!
It’s the place we belong.
Plants are thirsty, bears are hungry,
Send some rain down mountain streams.
