Ginny Parker doesn’t spend as much time on the ranch off Emma Road these days, where she spent most of her life. But her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren still keep an eye on things. A peculiar sheep has been spending some quality time with the family after saying hello over the fence. They like to call her Blueberry and she’s become a frequent visitor.
Blueberry is a Valais blacknose, a sheep breed hailing from Switzerland and new to the United States. These ultra-fluffy sheep are known to be quite friendly, which explains Blueberry’s proclivity to socialize with her neighbors. Males and females both have horns and their wool grows to be quite thick — also demonstrative by Blueberry’s coat. If you know a sheep shearer, she could surely shed some layers ahead of summer!
