Dandelion Day was especially vibrant this year, with gorgeous weather and stellar attendance. Alas, the Parade of Species got a little too literal with four four-leggeds joining the festivities in Sopris Park. Dogs are not allowed in Sopris Park, but the memo was missed by many. Police Chief Kirk Wilson called it a “complete flub” which organizers tried to address from the stage. Otherwise, the day was nearly perfect. KDNK served a record number of drinks, performers entertained, a copious number of vendors sold wholesome goods including happy, healthy plant starts.

Bonedale Ballet ballerinas began the day’s entertainment from the gazebo, which later featured local bands The Jazzmonauts and Down Valley Sound, as well as a educational panel.
