The Sun Does Shine
Colorado Mountain College’s selection for 2021’s Common Reader is “The Sun Does Shine” by Anthony Ray Hinton. Hinton spent 30 years in solitary confinement on death row for crimes he did not commit. His memoir tells of perseverance and triumph over injustice, addressing racial inequality and the need for criminal justice reform. Books are available at local bookstores, libraries, some CMC locations and online. The annual author talk will be streamed through the college’s website on Feb. 24 and Feb. 25.
