After a comprehensive national search that drew over 40 qualified applicants, the Town of Carbondale is pleased to announce the selection of Ryan Hyland as its next town manager. The Carbondale Board of Trustees unanimously selected Mr. Hyland following a competitive process led by executive search firm KRW Associates.

Mr. Hyland brings more than two decades of municipal government leadership experience to Carbondale, including 10 years as the town manager of Silverthorne, Colorado. Mr. Hyland is known for his inclusive approach to governance, light-hearted management style, and dedication to transparent, community-driven decision making. During his tenure in Silverthorne, Ryan led transformative community development initiatives, expanded affordable housing and childcare options, and fostered strong relationships with residents, businesses, and regional partners. Ryan holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Mr. Hyland will begin serving the Town of Carbondale as Town Manager on August 4, 2025.
