Mi nombre es Bianca Godina y nací en Glenwood Springs. Crecí en el valle de Roaring Fork, principalmente entre Basalt y Silt. También pasé parte de mi vida en Temósachic, Chihuahua, México, donde vivía parte del tiempo. Ser ni de aquí ni de allá me ha brindado la dicha de crecer con dos magníficas culturas. Mis padres siempre enfatizaron la importancia de dominar el español al cien por ciento, tanto en hablarlo, escribirlo como leerlo, y la vida me regaló el don de ser bilingüe desde que ingresé a las escuelas en Basalt. Me gradué de la escuela preparatoria Coal Ridge y posteriormente obtuve mi diploma en comunicaciones de la carrera técnica en el Colorado Mountain College. Luego, pasé dos años viajando de Silt a Grand Junction para obtener mi Licenciatura en Psicología de Colorado Mesa University. Siempre me ha apasionado la escritura y la lectura, y para ser sincera, el periodismo ha sido una de mis fascinaciones. En mis momentos libres, disfruto escribir poesía y explorar mi vena artística. Me encanta salir con mi esposo e hijo a pescar y conectar con la hermosa naturaleza que me rodea en las montañas donde crecí. Me siento profundamente orgullosa de ser nativa del valle y es un honor haber formado mi propia familia en las mismas montañas que me vieron crecer.

My name is Bianca Godina and I was born in Glenwood Springs. I grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley, mainly between Basalt and Silt. I also spent part of my life in Temósachic, Chihuahua, Mexico, where I lived part of the time. Being neither from here nor there has given me the joy of growing up with two magnificent cultures. My parents always emphasized the importance of mastering Spanish one hundred percent, both speaking it, writing it, and reading it, and life gifted me the ability to be bilingual from the time I entered school in Basalt. I graduated from Coal Ridge High School and later obtained my diploma in communications from Colorado Mountain College. Then, I spent two years traveling from Silt to Grand Junction to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Colorado Mesa University. I have always been passionate about writing and reading, and to be honest, journalism has been one of my fascinations. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry and exploring my artistic side. I love going fishing with my husband and son and connecting with the beautiful nature surrounding me in the mountains where I grew up. I feel deeply proud to be a native of the valley, and it is an honor to have formed my own family in the same mountains that watched me grow up.
