Local bears have entered hyperphagia — a state of feeding frenzy in preparation for hibernation. During this phase, bears attempt to consume thousands of calories daily in order to overwinter comfortably. It is especially important for people to secure their trash and remove attractants to avoid conflict with our ursine neighbors.
