On Aug. 11, the Town of Basalt and the Art Base announced the unveiling of the newest sculpture to grace Midland Avenue: “Mountain Storm.” The piece was crafted by the late local sculptor and cofounder of Aspen Art Museum, Laura Thorne, and gifted to The Art Base by her husband, Lorne Jenkins.
