Opening Reception on Art For Change & Narrative Threads

Carbondale Arts presents “Art For Change” and “Narrative Threads” with an opening reception on First Friday, May 4 from 6 to 8p.m. at the R2 Gallery located in The Launchpad (76 S. 4th Street in Carbondale). “Art For Change” features artists Jill Scher (curator), Wewer Keohane, Shannon Muse, Jill Sabella, and Jan Schubert who will each work in a variety of media to respond to a perceived needed change, whether that change be social, political, cultural or spiritual. “Narrative Threads,” curated by Alicia Bailey, director of Denver-based Abecedarian Artists’ Books, is a traveling exhibition of works combining physical threads with narrative content. Both exhibitions will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 9a.m. to 5p.m. and Saturday from 10a.m. to 2p.m. through May 25.
