Naturalist Nights: Forest Disturbance by Bark Beetles in Colorado

February 10 @ 1:00 am - 2:00 am

Free

Weather plays a crucial role in insect and disease activity in Colorado’s forests. Come learn about how changes in temperature and precipitation impact the relationship between bark beetle biology and tree defense mechanisms from Dr. Dan West, a forest entomologist with the Colorado State Forest Service.

In his role as Forest Entomologist for the Colorado State Forest Service, Dr. West works on all forested lands throughout the state, focusing on state and private forests, providing educational opportunities on emerging best issues and best practice treatment options.
This is a free event. Additional information will be sent in your confirmation email.
Unable to join us in Carbondale? Dr. West will also be presenting in Aspen on Thursday, February 10 at ACES Hallam Lake Nature Preserve. Presentations will also be available to watch on Grassroots TV and YouTube afterwards.
