Music at the Library: Amours divins! Songs of Love & Passion

February 18, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Tributes to l’amour have been expressed in music from ancient Greece civilization through the 21st century. These songs occur in all musical styles expressing romantic love, falling in love, heartbreak and feelings that these experiences bring.

The talented vocalist and passionate actor, Nikki Boxer, will perform art songs and arias of love written by Handel, Brahms, Gounod, Bizet, and more. Nikki’s degree in vocal performance from Tulane University, plus her continued studies at Longy School, IIVA Italy, LidalNorth in Oslo, and Sherrill Mills VOICE Foundation have provided her a strong performing foundation for a wide range of vocal repertoire from opera and art songs to Broadway and jazz.

She will be accompanied by the much sought-after collaborative pianist, Molly Noel. Molly holds a Masters of Music from Boston University and was staff accompanist with Boston Conservatory, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Heifetz International Music Institute, and Maroon Bell Canto Choir. Presently, she is Music Director at Christ Episcopal Church, Aspen.

Please join us on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 5:30 pm in the Basalt Regional Library Community Room, for an eclectic mix of classical arias and songs representing all the myriad facets of love.

To ensure a safe and healthy environment, this program will have limited seating and registration will be required.
