Honoring Martin Luther King Day – Alice’s Ordinary People

January 19, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

We honor Martin Luther King’s birthday with a special virtual discussion of Alice’s Ordinary People, a documentary film about Alice Tregay, a woman who refused to stand still for injustice. A civil rights activist in Chicago, her remarkable story spans the historic period from the marches of Dr. King to the election of Barack Obama, and her unique contribution in the field of politics is the thread that connects the two. Patrons are encouraged to watch the film before the Zoom discussion. This hour-long program is a presentation and discussion with independent filmmaker Craig Dudnick.

The film is available to watch for free with your library card on Kanopy.
