Dance Initiative hosts Artists In Residence Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre at The Launchpad on April 6-13. YSDT is a collaborative dance company operated out of New York City and Palestine. From this international position, the company has taught and performed at international universities and festivals, museums, UN refugee schools, juvenile detention centers, and site-specific locations throughout France, Germany, Japan, Jordan, Palestine, South Korea, and Tunisia, and fostered the careers of more than 50 emerging artists in the US and Arab world. YSDT aims to inspire trans-national dialogue and social discourse through artist development, education, and live performance. YSDT will offer an All Levels Workshop in Technique & Composition on Apr. 7 from 10a.m. to 12p.m. at The Launchpad ($15), an Artist Talk & Film Presentation on Apr. 10 at 7p.m. at Colorado Mountain College’s Spring Valley Campus (free), and a Studio Performance of Works In Progress on Apr. 13 at 7:30p.m. at The Launchpad.
